Committed to Reliability

We are a proud Canadian company that develops and markets high quality PET scanners achieving unmatched spatial resolution in a variety of clinical and preclinical scanner configurations.

Our mission is to develop and deliver the best PET scanners with the highest resolution in the world to allow new impactful discoveries in the field of healthcare research and to bring game changing diagnostic tools on the market to help millions of patients.

The Story of IR&T

The higher spatial resolution provided by the UHR Brain PET Scanner will significantly enhance small lesion detection and tumor cell infiltration in neuro-oncology, potentially leading to earlier diagnosis and more accurate tumor characterization. This improved resolution might also allow for more precise monitoring of treatment response and better surgical planning, advancing brain cancer research and therapy development.

Brain cancer

The UHR Brain PET Scanner has the potential to unlock new research opportunities to improve the identification and localization of potential seizure foci that remain elusive in some epilepsy patients. This enhanced imaging provides exciting potential to advance epilepsy research and therapy development.

Epilepsy

Improved spatial resolution may enable the detection of early signs of histopathological hallmarks of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., the accumulation of beta-amyloid and neurofibrillary tau tangles, synaptic density) in small brain regions rarely seen before as distinct entities in PET, such as the locus coeruleus or subfields of the hippocampus and entorhinal cortex. Such capabilities could lead to new scientific discoveries and advances in Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Neurodegenerative diseases

Improved spatial resolution in PET could lead to a better understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying addiction, enabling more personalized interventions and modifying strategies for dealing with substances such as cannabis, opioids and other addictions.

Addictions

Improved spatial resolution can enhance our understanding of the effects of concussions and head trauma on the brain. Our UHR Brain PET Scanner provides invaluable power to support research efforts aimed at improving diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies for these injuries.
