Security System Specialist

The Security System Specialist designs and implement safety measures and controls. He monitors network activity to identify vulnerable points and acts on privacy breaches and malware threats. In addition, the Security System Specialist is involved in the development and maintenance of software and platforms used to insure the best performance of scanners. He maintains the security solution effectiveness as well as oversees IT security incidents and requests. When a security incident does arise, he will investigate and resolve the issue in a timely manner. He is responsible for vulnerability management as well as system hardening.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Develop an IT security strategy to make systems impenetrable to outside actors (including choice of OS, hardware material and BIOS protection);
  • Develop a method of distributing and updating the software remotely (including OS and firmware updates);
  • Prepare and maintain all documents for all processes and manage all security technologies for information network;
  • Respond promptly to IT Security incidents and coordinate mitigation/resolution (Assess Risk, Containment, Mitigation, Remediation, Reporting);
  • Analyze all engineering processes and provide support to all firewalls and network for operating systems and scan all network devices and assist in vulnerability mitigation process;
  • Document and implement a strong security incident process;
  • Prepare management reports related to overall security aspects (incidents, requests, alerts, breach, leak, …);
  • Coordinate with IT specialists on installation sites to make sure a safe and reliable external access in always available;
  • Develop a global surveillance board, allowing to monitor the health status of all installed systems in real time;
  • Interface the PACS-like system of every installation site, supervise the integration with our software;
  • Ensure patient data confidentiality.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of security threats (malware, ransomware, etc.);
  • Hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or in a relevant field;
  • Experience as Security system specialist or in a similar position;
  • SSCP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, or OSCP certified (an asset);

Salary and Conditions

  • Competitive salary, according to experience;
  • One-year contract with possibility of full-time and permanent position.
Given the current environment and the nature of the tasks that might not require a physical presence, it is possible that the first few months of the job will be done remotely.
